An Evening with John Barnes Saturday 15th October 2016

The Tivoli Venue are pleased to announce the signing of a true footballing
legend! On a night for all fans of football, whoever your team or country, the Tivoli welcome John Barnes MBE for an evening of chat, anecdotes and questioning with one of arguably the most talented British footballers of all time.

You will have the chance to meet him, get a photograph and an autograph with our limited VIP package (which includes a hot meal). But even if you’re not quick enough to snap up a ‘golden ticket’, you will still have the chance to get up-close and personal with one of the most charming, enthusiastic and down-to-earth personalities of the game, who in his own words “loves to talk!”.

John started his career in 1981 when he signed for Watford. He spent 6 successful years there before moving onto Liverpool.

He spent ten years at Anfield winning the first division championship, the FA Cup twice and representing England on 79 occasions.

After brief spells at Newcastle, Charlton and Celtic, Barnes retired in 1999 having made 586 appearances and scoring 165 goals.

Having retired, Barnes returned to his former club Celtic, where he took charge alongside Kenny Dalglish for a year. Barnes then took a break from football and returned in 2008 when he took the reins of the Jamaican national side but only held the position for six months before moving onto Tranmere Rovers.

Most recently John has taken part in Strictly Come Dancing, Waterloo Road and is currently a pundit on ESPN and Supersports where he provides coverage of the Champions League. He also previously worked as a pundit on ITV and Channel Five.

VIP Tickets: £35 (includes a hot meal followed by a guaranteed meet and greet)
Standard Tickets: £25

You host for the evening will be Radio Deeside's Ian Gibbons.

So when I was contacted by Richard Lavender who told me he had recently opened a coffee lounge in Queensferry. I was keen to check the place out. When I told Radio Deeside's main man Barry Dale about the visit he quickly pulled rank expressing how he had to come along and also check out the cake selection!! On arriving at Urban Coffee Lounge I quickly noticed how spotlessly clean the place was, everything neatly in its place. The smell of coffee hit me just as I reached the counter, I opted for the cappuccino, Barry, on the other hand, decided on a nice mug of tea with one eye closely on the cakes!!! There is a choice of seating area's within the coffee lounge as well as a seated area outside, The traditional table and chairs also lounge style chairs with coffee table or there is a bar style seated area with h...

There was a meet and great that followed the gig, And Jizzy was in no rush, Taking his time to get around to speaking to all his fan's, signing autographs and posing for f...
