Erin is 5 and diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2012 . A patient at Alder Hey her family and friends have raised nearly £25k for the hospital..
A message from Erin's Family: On 23rd March 2016 news came that Erin had relapsed. After 2 months of treatment tests revealed her only chance of beating it this time is to have a bone marrow transplant. However, Erin needs to be in remission and she isn't in remission yet. Erin needs to be placed on a new trial to try to get her in remission and prepare her for transplant. One of these trials would be Car T Cell therapy but access to trials is very limited. There is only one UK centre running a Car T Cell trial at the moment, it only recruits one child per month nationally. We cannot wait to see if Erin will or will not have access to this trial, so we have started a campaign to raise funds for treatment abroad. There are 3 centres in USA that are running paediatric Car T Cell trials, so we want to raise funds to increase the chances of Erin having access to this treatment if and when she needs it. We believe the cost of the treatment alone will be around £100,000. Anything that you can do (even a RT) to help Erin will be hugely appreciated. If she is accepted on the Great Ormond Street trial here the funds raised will go to Dr Russell Keenan's 'Leukaemia Research Fund' at Alder Hey Children's Hospital Go Fund Me.
Thanks in advance
