When you start out retro, you don’t expect to become true originals – but that’s the position The Puppini Sisters (Marcella Puppini, Kate Mullins and Emma Smith) are delighted to find themselves in.

In the ten years since they began, it’s extraordinary how many others have followed their trailblazing lead, whether it’s the gorgeous close harmony singing style, the swing-style re-workings of modern pop songs, or their impeccable retro-futuristic fashion sense.

With four albums under their waist-cinching belts and the fifth one under way, The Puppini Sisters are now regarded as the world’s leading close-harmony group and count Prince Charles, The Manhattan Transfer and Michael Bublé amongst their fans.
The group was founded in 2004 by Marcella Puppini after she was inspired by the animated film Belleville Rendez-Vue (2003), and in 2005, they were signed by Universal Classics and Jazz.

Since then, the group have been awarded a Gold Disc and a Multi-Platinum disc, have collaborated with Michael Bublé and have appeared on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Koko and The Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, l’Olympia in Paris, The Great Hall of Conservatory in Moscow, The Greek in L.A., B.B. King’s in New York and Glastonbury Festival.

The Puppini Sisters television appearances include The Graham Norton Show, Strictly Come Dancing, Loose Women, This Morning, Big Brother’s Little Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, Jonathan Creek, The View (on ABC), and Michael Buble’s Christmas Special on NBC.

A Visit To Urban Coffee Lounge Queensferry

Those who know me well will know my deep passion for good cake!! I call it a passion because I just love cake, but with good cake has to come amazing coffee. So when I was contacted by Richard Lavender who told me he had recently opened a coffee lounge in Queensferry. I was keen to check the place out. When I told Radio Deeside's main man Barry Dale about the visit he quickly pulled rank expressing how he had to come along and also check out the cake selection!! On arriving at Urban Coffee Lounge I quickly noticed how spotlessly clean the place was, everything neatly in its place. The smell of coffee hit me just as I reached the counter, I opted for the cappuccino, Barry, on the other hand, decided on a nice mug of tea with one eye closely on the cakes!!! James Arthur still not letting go of UK No.1 single

James Arthur is still in pole position at the top of the UK singles chart. The singer's track 'Say You Won't Let Go' is today (October 17) No.1 on the midweek update. He if he is still at the top come Friday (October 21), Arthur will have logged his fourth week at No.1. This would give the former X Factor man his longest stint at No.1. At No.2 on the midweek update is Chainsmokers' 'Closer', while The Weeknd's 'Starboy' follows at No.3. Hailee Steinfeld is up 13 places to No.4 with 'Starving' and 'My Way' by Calvin Harris completes the top five.
