B.E.F. would produce the now iconic Music For Stowaways, and Music Of Quality and Distinction 1, and provided a template that subsequent artists would use from The Assembly in the Eighties, Electronic in the Nineties, and most recently, the Damon Alban and Jamie Hewlett ...

Bernie Marsden (White Snake) Friday 5th May 2017 at Tivoli Venue

In the early 70’s Bernie Marsden was an original guitarist for hard rock outfit UFO before becoming an original member of Paice, Ashton & Lord in 1977. After PAL split up Bernie joined David Coverdale in the newly formed Whitesnake, helping to establish the band as one of the most successful live rock bands in Europe and Japan. In 1982 Bernie co-wrote the multi-million selling hit ‘Here I Go Again’ before leaving Whitesnake to form Alaska. Most critics rate the original version of Whitesnake, featuring Bernie, to be the best and most authentic lineup of the world famous blues-rock outfit. Bernie has toured with his bands Company of Snakes and M3 (formed with fellow former Whitesnake members Micky Moody and Neil Murray). He has also recorded and toured with a succession of acclaimed blues albums, featuring many successful guest artists, including Zak Starkey from The Who and Oasis. Bernie has played with Ringo Starr’s band, Elkie Brooks and has played with Led Zeppelin singe...

SHALAMAR play Liverpool and Manchester!!

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the name Shalamar became synonymous with the contemporary sound of catchy feel-good dance music.  Shalamar are best known for a string of worldwide hits such as ‘The Second Time Around’, ‘Make That Move’, ‘I Owe You One’, ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, ‘There It Is’, ‘Friends’ and of course their often copied anthem ‘A Night To Remember’. Shalamar started life as a “manufactured” group. Dick Griffey was the talent co-ordinator for US hit show Soul Train when he decided to set up his own record label – SOLAR.  He took session musicians and created a hit record – Uptown Festival - which was credited to a faceless artist “Shalamar” in 1977.  When the record became a hit he realised that there was a demand for an actual group so he set about creating one with soul train dancers Jeffrey Daniel and Jody Watley together with singer Gary Mumford, the latter of whom quickly left the group to pursue other interests. In late 1979, the group...

RON SEXSMITH & BAND May 2017 Tour Dates

Ron Sexsmith’s status as one of the greatest songwriters of his generation has never been in doubt, even from the moment he released his self-titled major-label debut album in 1995. His career arc since then has in some ways been a study in how that pure ability has been handled in the studio. On his 12 albums, Sexsmith has worked with some of music’s most celebrated producers—Daniel Lanois, Mitchell Froom, Tchad Blake, Ray Kennedy, Martin Terefe, Bob Rock and Jim Scott. With all of that experience, it would stand to reason that Sexsmith has learned a thing or two over the years about how to make a record. That thought indeed struck him as the Toronto-based Sexsmith prepared to make his thirteenth solo album, The Last Rider, where for the first time he, in tandem with his longtime collaborator Don Kerr, has taken matters into his own hands as a producer. For fans, that fact alone should heighten the listening experience in terms of getting to hear Sexsmith’s complete musical vis...
