WILKO JOHNSON with special guest Aaron Keylock comes to WARRINGTON

So said Wilko in a recent interview, having been diagnosed in late 2012 with terminal pancreatic cancer. But despite the doctors’ worst predictions he continues to perform and present himself with vigour and a new zest for life. “Man, there’s nothing like being told you’re dying to make you feel alive.” Amen. And whether you’re black, white, green, atheist or believer, it’s what you put into life that’s going to get you anything, or nothing, at the end. And into it Wilko is putting his all. The man from Canvey Island, who studied English at Newcastle University before doing a bit of travelling, could have been a retired teacher by now, sucking on a pipe and whittling away at his pension. But no, Wilko was lured into music by the dark magic spun by his first Telecaster, bought from a music store in Southend, Essex, soon after becoming the strutting, grimacing, six-string rhythmic powerhouse behind Lee Brilleaux in Dr Feelgood. Feel good? Audiences certainly did in the mid ’70...

ROBIN TROWER & special guest Stevie Nimmo announce Autumn 2016 UK Tour!

Hailed as one of the finest guitarists in rock history, Robin Trower’s career has spanned more than four decades. Trower spent the early 60’s playing guitar in various London based bands, the most successful being The Paramount who specialised in mostly covers, and released several singles from 1963 and 1965. The Rolling Stones were big fans. In 1967, Trower received his big break when he joined Procol Harum; and remained a member until 1972. After leaving Procol Harum, Trower embarked on his solo career, formed a power trio that transformed him into a celebrated guitar innovator. His early albums share a tough, explosive guitar style mixed with his trademark “soft psychedelia” that made Robin Trower stand out from the rest of the crowd. Throughout his solo career, Trower has been regarded as the “White” Hendrix due to his uncanny ability to channel Jimi’s bluesy, psychedelic, Fender Strat playing style. Trower released his solo debut, Twice Removed From Yesterday, in 1973. T...

THE GOOD WATER UNVEIL NEW SINGLE ‘SEE YOUR LIGHT’

Birmingham-based psych-rockers The Good Water have released their new single See Your Light. The blues-soaked slice of sharp 60’s rock showcases fuzzy riffs & pop hooks alongside swirling organ & driving drums. Since forming in early 2015, The Good Water have been busy. The boys quickly picked up support from local tastemakers at Brum Radio with their drone-rock debut single Everything Is, gained new fans at raucous shows around the Midlands and blew away audiences supporting Mercury Rev, Super Furry Animals, and Bill Ryder-Jones at Lunar Festival. The duo’s brand of psychedelic rock grooves, obscure lyrics, and nimble riffs is streamlined into a tight pop framework for See Your Light, and the result is two and a half minutes of timeless, hook-laden guitar pop.
